Newborn baby girl wearing a knitted pink outfit lying on a white rug in a timber nest prop surrounded by pink flowers, white floor board backdrop

Last month saw gorgeous little Amity come in to the studio at just 18 days new. Amity’s parents were the lucky recipients of a gift certificate purchased by family friends to celebrate her birth. What better gift is there, than the gift of memories! Something that will be treasured by her mum and dad, grandparents and no doubt, herself when she’s older.

Amity’s session began at 10am when she arrived at my studio wide eyed and curious with an impressive determination not to sleep! We started with some family portraits capturing some beautiful eye contact and family bonding time. So much eye contact for such a wee little baby!

Eventually with a full belly, plenty of cuddles and shushing from mum and dad, Amity drifted off to sleep. I just love the look of my new little outfit on her. This little pink romper is just divine and perfect if you prefer to have your baby clothed for your session.

Once Amity was deep asleep we were able to transition her from my gorgeous twig nest, onto the log bed for a few photos and then on to the posing bean bag where we continued with some tummy poses. I love how these poses show off the back of this gorgeous little romper she was wearing and that little stretch headband.

The side pose would have to be one of my favourites!

As well as a number of rompers, headbands, pants and wraps I also have an array of bonnets for use during your baby’s session. The only difficulty is choosing what you would like included in your photos.

These two poses are definitely amongst my most requested! Seeing bub being cradled in dads hands knowing they will never be that small again really strikes a chord with me. Having two little ones of my own, it’s hard to look at them running around now and remember just how tiny they were. Definitely a memory worth saving and treasuring!

And I have to give a shout out to dad for being such a good sport! There’s just something about the look of tattoos and the innocence of a newborn that I love! I may be to chicken to get one of my own, but I do appreciate how much time, work and money goes into creating these pieces of art.
